Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Domaine de Cardou, whose origins date back to the 17th century, or even earlier according to some writings. At the time, it was just a three-story dovecote, extended by a two-level building. According to legend, these places were inhabited by sisters working at the church of Martignac, located a few hundred meters from the Domaine. These women, to support themselves, raised goats and sheep (the vineyard was not yet widespread at that time). They made their own cheese and used the wool from the sheep to spin and card, hence the name "Cardou".In 1860, a sheepfold (as evidenced by the inscriptions on the pediment) was added to the house. Later, this sheepfold was converted to accommodate pilgrims of Saint James. The two buildings were then connected to form a single structure. Recent expansions now welcome you to our three gîtes, accommodating 10, 6, and 4 people respectively, as well as our charming guest room, which can accommodate up to 4 people. Additionally, we have set up a fitness room and a wellness area for your utmost comfort. For your enjoyment, Domaine de Cardou offers a salt-heated pool, maintained at a pleasant temperature of 29°C. A games room with table tennis and foosball is also available, as well as a playground for the little ones.Come discover a true historical haven and enjoy all the facilities we have carefully prepared to make your stay unforgettable.
